December 17 (SeeNews) - German wind turbine maker Senvion said on Thursday it has received a 62-MW order from Fred. Olsen Renewables Ltd for the Brockloch Rig wind project in the UK.

The company will deliver 21 Senvion MM82 and nine Senvion MM92 turbines that have the combined capacity to power over 33,000 households a year. The first turbines will be installed during the summer of 2016. The Brockloch Rig wind park will be built on the hills above Carsphairn Forest, to the north of Carsphairn in Dumfries and Galloway.

Commenting on the news, Fred. Olsen Renewables CEO David Brunt said that the particular project is an important one for the company because it opens up a new geographical area.

Fred.Olsen Renewables is a wholly-owned unit of Bonheur ASA and Ganger Rolf ASA that takes responsibility for the group’s renewable energy activities.
