German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion SA (ETR:SEN) has chartered a vessel from Norway's GC Rieber Shipping ASA for the 332-MW Nordsee One wind farm in the German North Sea.
The seven-month charter, with extension options of up to three months, will start in the spring of 2017.
GC Rieber's construction support vessel (CSV) Polar Queen will support turbine commissoning at the Nordsee One wind farm. The project, which will consist of 54 Senvion turbines, is owned 85% by Northland Power Inc (TSE:NPI) and 15% by RWE International SE.
Polar Queen will provide transfer of personnel and cargoes and will be equipped with a motion compensated gangway and boat landings to serve crew transfer vessels. It has the potential to accommodate more than 100 personnel.
The time charter is concluded in understanding with current charterer Boa Marine Services Inc, GC Rieber said.
In May, Senvion contracted MPI Enterprise to transport and install the turbines at Nordsee One.
