Sembcorp wins 180-MW wind project in India

October 25 (Renewables Now) - Singapore-based utilities group Sembcorp Industries Ltd (SGX:U96) on Friday said it has won a 180-MW wind project in India as part of Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) recent auction.

The project has been awarded to the company's local subsidiary, Green Infra Wind Energy Limited.

The wind farm is planned for the state of Karnataka. Once completed, it will sell its output to SECI under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

With the latest project, Sembcorp's installed and under construction capacity in India exceeds 2.3 GW. Internationally, the company has over 3.5 GW of renewable energy in operation and under development, moving closer to its target of 10 GW of gross installed capacity by 2025.
