The renewables unit of Singapore-based group Sembcorp Industries Ltd (SGX:U96) has placed an order with Suzlon Ltd (BOM:532667) to execute a 180.6-MW wind project in the Indian state of Karnataka.
The subsidiary, called Green Infra Wind Energy Ltd, has contracted Suzlon to supply, install and commission 86 turbines of 2.1 MW each as part of a project in Kanakagiribad, Bagalkot, that was awarded to Sembcorp in the tranche XI auctions held by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
Suzlon said in a statement it expects to complete the project in 2024. The company will then provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services to the wind park.
This latest contract represents Suzlon’s third repeat order from Sembcorp, it noted.
