Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTApril 14 (Renewables Now) - The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is awaiting bids in a tender for standalone battery energy storage (BESS) projects with a combined capacity of 500 MW/1,000 MWh in the state of Rajasthan.
The Request for Selection (RfS) is for pilot projects that will be realised under the build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) model, official documents released on Wednesday show.
The capacity can be installed near the Fatehgarh-III substations of the ISTS network in Rajasthan and has to go online within 18 months from signing an off-take agreement. The battery facilities will be installed at a single location, either under a single project or through two schemes of 250 MW/500 MWh each.
Proposals will be accepted by June 10, 2022, and will be opened on June 15, SECI said. The agency will hold a pre-bid meeting on May 6, 2022. Winners will sign battery energy storage purchase agreements.
Each bidder is allowed to compete for the entire capacity on offer or propose one or two projects of 250 MW/500 MWh each.
