Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTJanuary 11 (Renewables Now) - German energy group RWE AG (ETR:RWE) said today it will invest over EUR 40 million (USD 45m) to build a 43-MW wind farm in north-eastern Spain.
RWE expects to begin construction work on the nine-turbine Rea Unificado project in Soria this quarter. The facility will utilise Nordex turbines of 4.8 MW each.
“Work at our 17th wind farm in Spain can commence. It is set to begin operations by the end of this year, following which it will then be able to supply the equivalent of 30,000 homes with green electricity,” said Katja Wuenschel, designated CEO Wind Onshore and PV Europe & Australia, RWE Renewables.
When it comes to onshore wind, RWE already operates such plants totalling 440 MW in Spain.
