January 20 (Renewables Now) - London-based investment platform Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has secured a corporate off-taker in Finnish telecommunications company Elisa Oyj (HEL:ELISA) for its 44-MW Puutikankangas wind farm project in Finland, the parties announced in a joint statement on Thursday.

The eight-turbine wind farm is currently under construction in Finland’s North Ostrobothnia region and will commence operation early in 2023.

Elisa procured most of Puutikankangas’ output under a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with RPC. The contract will help Elisa cover half of electricity demanded by its entire mobile network in Finland, according to the statement.

Power delivery to the off-taker is due to start later in 2023.

RPC is a pan-European renewables investment platform backed by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments).
