Robert Bosch to source 50 MW from He Dreiht offshore wind project

Engineering and technology group Robert Bosch GmbH will procure 50 MW of power from the He Dreiht wind project that will be built in the North Sea off the German coast.

The electricity will be delivered by German electric utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (ETR:EBK) under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA), starting in 2026.

The capacity corresponds to about 200 GWh of electricity per year, EnBW said on Tuesday.

The 900-MW He Dreiht wind farm will be built some 90 km (55.92 mi) northwest of the Borkum island. The 15-MW turbines are set to start producing electricity in 2025.

EnBW has already secured several PPAs for the project which will be realised without state subsidies. German specialty chemicals company Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVK) has contracted 150 MW of the wind farm's capacity while a further 50 MW will be supplied to steel producer Salzgitter AG (ETR:SZG).

The first PPA for the project was signed in December 2021 with the operator of the Frankfurt airport, Fraport AG (ETR:FRA), and covers 85 MW of the total capacity.
