The winner in the Netherlands’ tender for the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind zone in the North Sea is to be known on Wednesday.
Ruud de Bruijne, offshore wind project manager at the Netherlands Enterprice Agency (RVO), said on LinkedIn that the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy intended to announce the result on July 29 after the stock exchanges close.
The government had 13 weeks to go through the applications it received at the end of April. It will award a permit for the construction of a zero-subsidy wind park with a capacity of at least 700 MW.
So far we know that Dutch utility Eneco and Royal Dutch Shell Plc (AMS:RDSA) have submitted a joint bid in tender, and that Denmark’s Ørsted SA (CPH:ORSTED) also participated. Vattenfall decided not to compete because of the COVID-19 crisis.
