RES to offer offshore wind consultancy services in S Korea

UK-based Renewable Energy Systems Ltd (RES) said on Monday it has partnered with Blue Wind Engineering as it plans to establish a consultancy services business in South Korea.

RES has selected Blue Wind Engineering as a representative for its consultancy and business development services in the country, which has ambitious targets for offshore wind. Blue Wind Engineering’s founder Jone Oh will help RES create a Korean business that focuses specifically on the provision of project life-cycle services to the emerging offshore wind market.

David Povall, CEO Asia-Pacific at RES, noted that Korea has a solid experience and knowledge of marine industries such as marine engineering, shipbuilding and steel plate manufacturing. “These industries are well developed, so as a country Korea is well placed to play a significant role in both the domestic and international offshore wind markets,” he said in statement.

RES is already present in the Asia-Pacific region, having offices in Japan and Australia.
