RES Invest Holding to break ground on EUR 29m CHP biomass-fired plant in Croatia

(ADPnews) - Nov 9, 2010 - Austrian renewable energy developer RES Invest Holding will launch today the construction of a EUR 29 million (USD 40m) combined heat and power (CHP) biomass-fired plant in Jasenovac, southern Croatia.

The facility is expected to start operation in 2012 and create up to 20 jobs, the Jasenovac municipality said yesterday. The project will be implemented by RES Bioenergija Jasenovac, the local unit of RES Invest Holding.

Croatian daily Poslovni Dnevnik reported today that the plant will have a maximum heating power capacity of 23 MWh and a maximum electrical capacity of 7.2 MWel. It will burn 60,000 tonnes of wood chips annually.
