Re-powered 57-MW wind farm in California goes live
Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center, California.
Community-governed power supplier East Bay Community Energy (EBCE) today commissioned the re-powered 57-MW Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center in California.
As part of the re-powering, 23 new turbines replaced 569 pieces of 100-kW machines at the wind farm in Livermore. The facility supplies with power 14 cities in the district and Alameda County.
The project is operated by Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company and is now the biggest wind asset in the company's portfolio.
EBCE will use the wind farm as a main supply of power for its Renewable 100 programme, which mixes wind and solar power to service about 100,000 customers. The company is eyeing 100% renewable power by 2030.
