Italy’s Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) will manufacture and install submarine inter-array cable systems for the 496-MW Saint Brieuc offshore wind farm project in French waters.
The turnkey contract, worth around EUR 80 million (USD 88m), was awarded by project owner and developer Ailes Marines SAS.
The Italian cable maker said it will supply, install and commission 90 kilometres of three-core 66-kV HVAC XLPE-insulated inter-array cables.
The company's facilities in Montereau-Fault-Yonne and Gron, France, will manufacture the cable cores, which will then be assembled and finished in Nordenham, Germany.
Delivery and commissioning of the cables are scheduled to take place at the end of 2022.
The news comes a week after Prysmian announced it had finalised a contract with Swedish state-owned power utility Vattenfall AB to supply 66-kV inter-array cable systems for the 750-MW Hollandse Kust Zuid III and IV offshore wind project located off the Dutch coast.
