February 12 (Renewables Now) - All projects that will deliver the 3 GW of renewable energy capacity awarded in Spain's May 2017 auction have been identified, the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda said last week.

Following the auction, in which almost the entire capacity was awarded to wind energy, the winners had a deadline to identify the specific projects that will be constructed. A total of 165 projects have now been identified, to be carried out by 22 developers.

The May 2017 auction was followed by another renewable tender in July 2017, in which 5 GW of capacity was awarded. The specific projects for this auction are also being identified, the ministry said.

Spain's Forestalia Group last week said it has identified 51 wind projects for the 1.2 GW of capacity it won in the May auction. Endesa SA (BME:ELE) and Gas Natural Fenosa (BME:GAS) also announced they have identified 29 and 26 projects, respectively, for their tender awards of 540 MW and 667 MW.
