PPC opens tender for 10-MW wind project in Greece

July 24 (Renewables Now) - PPC Renewables SA, a unit of Greek utility PPC SA (ATH:PPC), is seeking contractors for the construction of a 10-MW wind park on the largest of the Ionian Islands.

The company has initiated a competitive tender process so as to select the company that will design, procure, transport, install and commission the wind farm in Xerakias Dilinata, Kefalonia municipality. The capacity will be awarded in a single lot and will not be divided into separate projects, according to the tender announcement.

The total indicative cost of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) portion of the contract is estimated at EUR 9.4 million (USD 11m).   

The project also includes the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the wind farm for a period of 14 years, valued at EUR 3.5 million, bringing the total value of the contract up to EUR 12.9 million. This is without value added tax (VAT).

In May, PPC Renewables called a tender for the construction of a 30-MW wind park in Mouzaki and Argithea municipalities, central Greece.
