Poyry secures job on Finnish biogas plant expansion project

July 31 (Renewables Now) - Finnish consulting and engineering firm Poyry Plc (HEL:POY1V) has won an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services job on a biogas plant expansion project at home.

More specifically, Gasum Ltd has hired Poyry for work on the Topinoja facility in Turku, it was announced today. The contract should be executed by June 2019.

The expansion project includes the modernisation of the facility and the construction of a biogas upgrading and liquefaction plant.

Matti Oksanen, Director, Product Management and Solutions, Biogas, at Gasum, explained that the Turku plant “will be the first in Finland to liquify biogas directly from a biogas production facility enabling its use in heavy duty trucks.” The process will also enable the supply of new types of nutrient and fertilizer products to customers.
