Power Company of Wyoming gets DoI nod for up-to-3-GW wind farm site
Oct 10, 2012 - Power Company of Wyoming LLC on Tuesday said the US Department of the Interior (DoI) had authorised the site for its 2 GW-3 GW wind power project in Wyoming.
The company proposed the wind park, to be located on private and federal land in Carbon County, in 2008.
The record of decision authorising the Chokecherry and Sierra Madre site as suitable for the development of a wind power project was signed after comprehensive analysis of the impact of the wind farm on the environment. The final environmental impact statement for the project was published by the Bureau of Land Management in July.
A conditional use permit for the development has been given the thumbs-up by Carbon County. Power Company of Wyoming is filing an application with the Wyoming Industrial Siting Division for the required permit.
