Portuguese Rulis Electrica to sell marine wind turbines in Turkey, Malaysia
Oct 3, 2013 - Portuguese marine wind turbine maker Rulis Electrica said Tuesday it has signed agreements with distributors in Turkey and Malaysia for its Silentwind-branded products, including wind generators, rotorblades and mounting systems for marine vessels.
In Turkey the products will be marketed by local boat equipment manufacturer Arti Marin Elektrik. The country is a promising market for boat equipment as it has attracted European boat owners with its long coastline, Rulis Electrica said.
Rulis will sell its products in Malaysia through consultancy firm ARES Marine on the Rebak island, part of the Langkawi archipelago, 30 km (19 miles) north of the Malaysian coast. The Portuguese company has high expectations from its entry into Asia, despite the small size of the market for its products.
Rulis Electrica has been producing equipment for small wind turbines for marine applications since 1993. The company has a distribution network in more than 20 countries and aims to expand further.
