Portuguese renewable energy company Greenvolt – Energias Renovaveis SA and an unnamed institutional investor have jointly placed a binding offer to acquire a 42-MW biomass power plant in England.
According to a filing published on Wednesday by Portuguese pulp producer Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALTR), Greenvolt's parent company, the offer is considered the preferential bid. A negotiation process is now underway.
Specifically, Greenvolt and the institutional investor are looking to take full control of Tilbury Green Power Holdings Ltd (TPGH), the owner of the biomass plant, located in the port of Tilbury, Essex.
For the Portuguese firm, this move aligns with its goal of becoming a larger player at an international level, Aldi stated.
