Polish province to provide USD 21m in EU funds for green projects - report
Jul 27, 2012 - Polish province of Podlaskie's government on Wednesday unveiled a competition for PLN 70.6 million (USD 21m/EUR 17.1m) in European Union (EU) funding for renewable energy projects under the Regional Operational Programme Podlaski.
Local governments, schools, national parks, forest inspectorates, research institutions and entrepreneurs may submit applications for biogas, hydropower or wind power projects financing by September 10, Barbara Likowska-Matys from the Marshall's office told Polish news agency PAP.
The maximum level of financing will be up to 85% of the project's cost.
Likowska-Matys said that the government had already concluded three competitions for financing of green energy projects under the programme for green energy investments totalling some PLN 26.5 million. In August, the government will launch a competition for PLN 30 million of solar project financing.
