September 5 (Renewables Now) - Two units of Polish energy group PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WSE:PGE) will partner to bring 100% renewable power to electric vehicle (EV) users in the country.

EV charging station operator PGE Nowa Energia will be buying Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) from renewable energy firm PGE Energia Odnawialna SA. For 2019 the volume will be 370 MWh, immediately greening the charging stations’ supply, and the purchases will continue in the following years.

PGE said on Wednesday it is the first company in Poland to offer 100% renewable power at its EV charging stations. It is gradually expanding the network across the country, not only in big cities, but also in towns and medium-sized cities.
