Polish Enea targets 500 MW of wind power by 2020 - report
Nov 14, 2011 - Polish utility Enea (WAR:ENA) has revised its wind power strategy and upgraded its development target to 500 MW of installed wind power capacity by 2020, Polish energy news portal Cire.pl reports, citing the company's president Maciej Owczarek.
Enea has so far expected to achieve 250 MW-350 MW of installed wind power capacity by 2020. However, work done so far has urged the company to increase this goal which was set two years ago, Owczarek said.
Currently, Enea has identified some 800 MW of wind power projects that are expected to become operational by 2013. Even if not all the projects are successfully completed or the company does not acquire all of them, the earlier goal of 350 MW is not adequate anymore, Owczarek added.
