Dec 17, 2014 - German wind projects developer PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNE3) said Thursday it has finalised work on a 12-MW wind park in Germany and handed it over to UK construction firm Chorus Group Ltd.
The Sontra wind farm, located in the state of Hesse, uses five N117 machines made by local manufacturer Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1). PNE Wind developed the scheme in three years and constructed it in six months. The company will be in charge of the technical operational management.
The facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power 9,000 local households per year. Its output will offset 18,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
In the fist nine months of 2014, PNE completed wind parks with a combined capacity of about 100 MW. The current domestic and international onshore project pipeline of the group exceeds 5,500 MW. The company is also working on 13 offshore wind projects, totalling 4,700 MW.
