April 17 (Renewables Now) - Chicago-based wind farm developer Pure New Enery USA Inc (PNE USA), a unit of Germany’s PNE AG (ETR:PNE3), said Wednesday it has sold its interest in the Burleigh Wind development project in North Dakota to Burke Wind LLC.

The proposed almost 300-MW project spans over 15,000 acres (6,070 hectares) of land in the Burleigh and Emmons Counties near the North Dakota capital of Bismarck. The project holds 24 land leases with private landowners and an interconnection queue position with the local grid operator for 298 MW of capacity.

In early December 2018, the Bismarck Tribune reported that the Burleigh County Planning and Zoning Commission had refused to approve the project following a public hearing that attracted many opponents.
