Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Aug 8-12)
Aug 12, 2022 17:43 CESTJanuary 14 (Renewables Now) - German renewables developer PNE AG (ETR:PNE3) has switched on two onshore wind farms in its home market with a combined output of 35.1 MW, raising its own wind portfolio to some 233.2 MW.
The 21.6-MW Zahrenholz wind park consists of six Nordex N131 wind turbines that were installed in the district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony while the Holstentor farm features three Nordex N149 turbines with a nominal output of 13.5 MW located in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernfoerde in Schleswig-Holstein.
The two facilities were commissioned at the end of 2021 and generate electricity enough to supply more than 24,000 households annually, PNE said on Thursday.
The construction of the two farms is part of PNE's efforts to expand its own wind portfolio to up to 500 MW by the end of next year. The Cuxhaven-based developer put a 25-MW wind park in Lower Saxony into operation in November and has more wind projects in the home market under construction and amid licensing procedures.
“The commissioning of these two wind farms is a very welcome milestone on the path of PNE AG’s further development. We are fully on track. Almost half of the wind farms we have planned for our own portfolio are already in operation," said chief executive Markus Lesser.
