PLC unit picks Nordex turbines for Norwegian wind project

German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has bagged a deal to equip a nine-turbine wind park that a unit of Italian power capacity installer PLC SpA (BIT:PLC) will build in Norway.

The Italian group said on Wednesday that its indirect subsidiary Monsson Operation GmbH has ordered N149 5.X TS105-01 machines for its Lutelandet project, the capacity of which was not provided.

Under the deal, Nordex Norway GmbH will be responsible for delivering and installing the equipment and will also provide maintenance service once the power plant goes online. Turbine installation will be carried out by the end of this year.

Nordex, whose largest shareholder is Acciona SA (BME:ANA), last month announced it has received 1,534.1 MW of orders in the second quarter of 2021, well above the 888 MW recorded in the year-ago period. Orders were split between Europe (54%) and Latin America (46%).
