Per Aarsleff lands EUR-40m biogas job in Denmark

Jul 14, 2014 - Danish construction company Per Aarsleff A/S (CPH:PAAL B) said Friday it had agreed to design and build a DKK-300-million (USD 55m/EUR 40m) biogas plant in southern Denmark for local firm ENVO Biogas Tonder A/S.

The turnkey contract includes an option for the construction of a similar plant in the town of Aabenraa, also valued at about DKK 300 million. The implementation of the project will start with a design phase to be followed by the signing of a contract for the execution phase, Per Aarsleff said.

The biogas facility, touted as the largest of its kind in northern Europe, will be constructed in the town of Tonder. Per Aarsleff will mainly conduct civil engineering works, including earthwork and concrete work, while its unit Wicotec Kirkebjerg A/S will take care of technical installations. German firm LimnoSun GmbH will provide the process technology.

Construction activities are starting now and are seen to be concluded in 22 months. The option for the biogas plant in Aabenraa will have a six-month staggered execution start.
