Peat Resources, BioEnergy to collaborate on biomass research
(ADPnews) - Dec 10, 2010 - Canadian firm Peat Resources Ltd (CVE:PET) intends to establish a joint venture with domestic company BioEnergy Inc to develop advanced biomass processing technologies and peat-derived products.
The companies announced on Wednesday that they have entered into a letter of intent to work together on technological research and development.
At present, Peat Resources owns the rights to large peatland properties in Ontario and Newfoundland. It has developed a harvesting and processing system to provide peat fuel for utilities and industrial facilities for power and heat generation. It also operates a small-scale peat fuel processing facility in Stephenville in Newfoundland.
BioEnergy is engaged in the development of solutions for biomass densification and torrefaction for making specialised biomass products from peat and other materials.
