August 9 (Renewables Now) - Aberdeen-based energy services firm PD&MS Group will support Swedish power company Vattenfall’s European offshore wind portfolio under a three-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract with options for a two-year extension.
The Scottish engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contractor said today it will provide a range of key support across Vattenfall’s wind farms in the UK, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.
PD&MS was awarded the contract of undisclosed sum after a competitive tender process. Set up in 2002 and owned by private equity firm Inflexion sunce 2014, the company now employs around 550 in Scotland and 100 abroad.
“We are thrilled that Vattenfall has recognised our highly transferable skills gained from years of successfully operating across oil and gas and other energy sectors and chosen us as one of their long-term service providers,” said Thomas Barter, head of renewables business development at PD&MS. According to him, the contract reinforces PD&MS’ position as a supplier for future wind developments, such as ScotWind and other European projects.
