Australia’s Palisade Real Assets has bought Malaby Biogas Ltd, an organic waste anaerobic digestion plant in the UK, marking the first investment for its UK bioenergy platform BioticNRG Ltd.
Financial details were not disclosed.
Located in Warminster, Wiltshire, the plant processes 500-600 tonnes of organic waste per week, generating renewable power for around 2,500 houses. It has been in operation since 2012.
The Malaby team is led by managing director Thomas Minter, who has joined the Palisade Real Assets team as part of the deal.
“I am thrilled to join the Palisade Real Assets team and to help build out the energy transition ambitions of BioticNRG - we have an exciting pipeline of investment opportunities across the anaerobic digestion value chain,” Minter said last week in a press release.
Palisade Real Assets is a subsidiary of infrastructure manager Palisade Investment Partners.
