(ADPnews) - Oct 29, 2010 - Australian oil and gas utility Origin Group (ASX:ORG) said Friday it had received planning approval for its Stockyard Hill wind farm development in Victoria, southeastern Australia.
This is the company's biggest wind farm project. According to plans, it will consist of 212 turbines, which will produce enough electricity to meet the needs of over 238,000 households a year.
Origin Energy held over 2,000 MW of wind farm capacity under development in 2009. In addition it owns a 30% stake in the geothermal joint venture with Geodynamics Ltd (ASX:GDY). The utility also has a manufacturing facility for photovoltaic panels under the Sliver brand.
