Norway-based energy and marine consultant ABL Group ASA (FRA:26Q) has acquired Danish offshore wind turbine solutions provider Delta Wind Partner ApS (DWP) in a bid to expand its technical offerings in the offshore market.
The transaction, carried out by ABL’s subsidiary OWC, was completed on Wednesday for DKK 11.4 million (USD 1.6m/EUR 1.5m), the buyer said. It has issued 413,838 ordinary shares at NOK 15.29 apiece (USD 1.43/EUR 1.33) and paid DKK 7.4 million in cash.
DWP is focused on providing solutions for wind turbine generators through the lifecycle of an offshore project. The company has supported both bottom-fixed and floating wind projects locally and in the UK, Ireland, Japan and South Korea.
ABL explained that the purchase will enable it to offer a wider range of consultancy services related to the installation and operations and maintenance (O&M) phases of offshore wind projects, while improving its services for turbine optimisation. The deal also gives ABL a presence in the Danish market, in addition to its own foothold in 14 countries globally.
