Weekly renewables M&A round-up (Aug 15-19)
Aug 19, 2022 17:14 CESTJanuary 14 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) said on Friday it has received an order to supply turbines for a 50-MW wind farm project in Poland.
The deal was placed by Lithuanian renewables-focused utility Ignitis Group (VSE:IGN1L) in December and will see Nordex deliver 14 units of its N117/3600 machines for the Bakow I scheme.
The German company will be responsible for the commissioning of the turbines and will provide long-term services as part of a 20-year agreement.
The Nordex hardware will be mounted on 134-metre (439.6-ft) tubular steel towers at a site in southwestern Poland. The manufacturer said it expects to supply the equipment and begin installation works in the summer of next year, while the power plant is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2023.
Last month, Ignitis achieved commercial operations at its 94-MW Pomerania wind farm in Poland, its first one in the country.
