December 5 (Renewables Now) - Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has received an order from a first-time customer to supply turbines for the 76.8-MW Vize-2 wind farm in Turkey.

The German turbine manufacturer said Thursday it will install 16 units of the N149/4.0-4.5 machines for Karayel Elektrik. All turbines are from the Delta4000 series and will be delivered in the 4.8-MW operating mode. The order includes a ten-year premium service contract.

The new wind farm will be constructed near the city of Kirklareli in Turkey’s European part. Nordex said that the annual wind speeds at the site reach 7.8 metres per second.

Karayel Elektrik is entitled to receive a higher feed-in-tariff for Vize-2 as Nordex intends to manufacture towers, rotor blades, generators and anchor cages locally.

Once in operation, the Vize-2 wind farm will be capable of producing more than 240 GWh of electricity per year.

The project is slated to be finalised at the end of 2020.
