July 3 (Renewables Now) - Nordex (ETR:NDX1) said today that long-standing customer Midtfjellet Vindkraft AS has ordered 39.6 MW of wind turbines for an extension project in southwestern Norway.

Under the terms of the contract, Nordex will supply 11 units of the N117/3600 turbines for the Midtfjellet III wind farm on the island of Stord. The project will extend the existing Midtfjellet I and II wind parks, totalling 110 MW, to 149.6 MW.

The German wind turbine supplier has also signed a five-year Premium Service Agreement, with the option to prolong it twice for five years.

The project is owned by a joint venture between Aquila Capital, Fitjar Kraftlag SA, Ostfold Energi Vind AS and Vardar Boreas AS. In total, the three wind parks will consist of 55 turbines as of next year.
