Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) started the third quarter on a positive note securing 102 MW of orders in its home market during the month of July, the German wind turbine maker said on Tuesday.
The 10 orders received last month in Germany will see the company supply a total of 19 turbines for various customers.
“The N163/5.X was the bestseller for our order intake in July, and we also scored repeatedly with our new N163/6.X,” said Karsten Brueggemann, vice president of region central for the Nordex Group.
The company official added that after political action at the federal level with the legislative packages adopted before the summer break and the Onshore Wind Energy Act, now it is time for federal states and municipalities to quickly designate more areas and approve turbine installations so that the country can become independent of fossil fuels.
In the first half of 2022, Nordex installed 95 turbines totalling 440 MW in Germany, including some yet to be commissioned.
The company on Sunday reported a switch to a loss before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of EUR 173.3 million (USD 178.4m) in the first half of the year from earnings of EUR 68.4 million a year earlier as sales fell 21.2% on the year to EUR 2.1 billion.
