October 15 (Renewables Now) - Germany’s Nordex (ETR:NDX1) today announced 1,700 MW of wind turbine orders for the third quarter of 2019, indicating “particularly great interest” for its new Delta4000 series.
The wind turbine manufacturer has signed deals to supply 436 turbines. The total capacity was significantly higher than the 974 MW of orders received in the quarter period of 2018.
The new contracts came from projects in 14 countries. About 60% of order came from Europe, while the US and Latin America accounted for 28% and 12%, respectively.
Nordex’s latest Delta4000 series machines were the top seller during the three months, making up 49% of the company’s new orders. The particular platform includes the N149/4.0-4.5 turbines, designed for light to medium wind conditions, and the N133/4.8 machines for strong wind levels.
At the end of September, the German firm’s total order intake, including service contracts, amounted to 4.7 GW, up from 3.1 GW a year back.
