November 24 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has been selected to supply hardware for a 41.6-MW wind farm that German renewables developer VSB Group is building build in Poland.
The contract covers the supply and installation of 13 turbines of the N117/3600 type and also includes a 20-year premium service agreement for the machines, Nordex said on Thursday.
The German manufacturer will deliver the N117/3600 machines on tubular steel towers with hub heights of 134 metres (440 feet). The generators, to be operated with a rated output of 3.2 MW, will power a wind farm in the Silesia voivodeship in the southwestern part of Poland, close to the Czech border.
The wind park is already under construction, according to the statement. Nordex expects to install the turbines at the beginning of 2024 and bring them online in the summer of the same year.
Early in 2021, VSB ordered Nordex turbines for its 42.6-MW Baranow-Rychtal wind farm in Poland, which is currently being built in Kepno County, Greater Poland Voivodeship. The 11-turbine plant is scheduled for commissioning in August 2023.
