MidAmerican picks Siemens Gamesa turbines for Wind XI portion
Apr 17, 2018 15:41 CESTFeb 28 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine maker Nordex (ETR:NDX1) announced on Monday it has received an order for 285 MW of its machines for installation in the US.
Nordex said that this is the first follow-up order from a Safe Harbor transaction agreed upon in late 2016 with a “major international power supplier”, whose name was not disclosed. The customer will get the higher tax benefit that was valid last year, it added.
As part of the deal, the German company will supply 95 turbines in the 3-MW class, each with a rotor diameter of 125 metres (410 ft). They will be installed on 87.5-metre tubular steel towers.
The particular turbine model is suitable for the site conditions prevailing and for medium wind speeds, Nordex noted.
The company gave no further details about the contract or the US project.
