April 3 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine supplier Nordex (ETR:NDX1) today said it has won orders to equip 178.8 MW of wind projects in Turkey.

More specifically, the company will supply 47 multi-megawatt turbines of the N131/3600 and N131/3900 series under three separate contracts with “important existing customers”. Delivery of the machines for the first wind farm is to start in September.

Nordex will also service the wind parks under multi-year contracts.

At the end of 2017, Turkey had nearly 6.9 GW of installed wind power generation capacity, after adding 766 MW in the year, according to a report by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). Nordex says it has a market share of some 30% in the country.
