NHOA SA (EPA:NHOA) unveiled on Thursday that a consortium of NHOA Energy and Elecnor SA (BME:ENO) has signed a contract to deliver a 200-MW/400-MWh battery storage project in South Australia for French renewable power producer Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN).
The duo will work on the Blyth Battery storage project which is designed to firm the production of Neoen’s 412-MW Goyder South Stage 1 wind farm, with a recently achieved partial financial close, and deliver a 70-MW renewable-energy baseload supply to mining group BHP.
NHOA said that it will provide the battery technology, while its Spanish partner will be in charge of the balance-of-plant work. The project should be completed in 2025.
The new contract takes NHOA Energy’s global portfolio of projects in execution to 1,400 MWh, according to Lucie Kanius Dujardin, NHOA Energy’s Executive Vice President – Global Markets & Development. Earlier this week, the company said it will be providing details about some recent awards for more than 620 MWh of energy storage systems.
In October 2021, NHOA Energy was also contracted to equip the 100-MW/200-MWh Kwinana Battery Energy Storage System in Western Australia.
