Paris-based cable manufacturing company Nexans SA (EPA:NEX) plans to reduce its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to zero by 2030.
The company's strategy includes a 4.2% average reduction of greenhouse emissions a year, in scopes 1 and 2 in particular. Nexans will use renewable energy either locally produced or through the purchase of decarbonised energy for all locations.
The company will also switch 100% of its employee automobile fleet to either hybrid or electric vehicles and deploy energy efficiency solutions at all sites.
"Our commitment to carbon neutrality concerns all aspects of our company, from manufacturing products, developing innovations and solutions, managing daily operations, to the use of raw materials and working habits," CEO Christopher Guerin noted.
