October 6 (SeeNews) - France’s Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) has opened a tender for biomass-fired power plants projects at industrial or agricultural sites in the country.

The tender has two batches, depending on the overall capacity of the project.

Small projects, with capacities ranging from 100 toe of generation per year or 1,163 MWh per year to 1,000 toe of generation or 11,630 MWh/year, will be managed at a regional level and bids will be accepted throughout the year. The exact terms and timing for these projects will vary from region to region and will be communicated to applicants when they establish contact with the regional directorates at ADEME.

Projects with capacities of over 1,000 toe of generation or 11,630 MWh/year will bid at a national level but biomass procurement plans will be assessed by regional authorities as well.

The deadline for submission of bids is set for January 31, 2017 before noon.
