June 19 (Renewables Now) - Finnish oil and renewable products maker Neste Corp (HEL:NESTE) on Monday announced a partnership with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) intended to reduce air pollution from aircraft at the airport.

The solutions the partners are looking at include the use of Neste MY Renewable Jet Fuel at the airport. They also plan to work on other decarbonising options such as renewable de-icing, paints and plastics, said Kaisa Hietala, executive vice president of the renewable products business area in Neste. "We will give all our wide knowledge and expertise on sustainable renewable products to help DFW to achieve its targets," Hietala added.

The parties will in addition explore logistics and supply chain options for establishing potential renewable jet fuel supply at DFW.

Robert Horton, vice president for environmental affairs at DFW Airport, said the partnership is in line with the airport's targets in increasing sustainability and decreasing emissions. "DFW’s goal is to implement programs that proactively enhance our status as a certified Carbon Neutral airport and reduce DFW's environmental footprint as much as possible," according to Horton.
