Neste Jacobs wins rosin plant construction job in Sweden
Nov 25, 2014 - Finnish group Neste Oil Corp’s (HEL:NES1V) engineering joint venture has received an order to build a rosin production facility in Sweden for biochemicals and second-generation renewable fuels firm SunPine.
Under the deal, Neste Jacobs will provide engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) services for the Tall Oil Rosin station, Neste Oil said in a press release on Tuesday. The plant will be situated in the Pitea locality, northeastern Sweden, and is scheduled to be put on stream in the second half of 2015.
Financial details of the contract were not provided.
Once operational, the facility will supply rosin to SunPine’s Lawter plant in Kallo, Belgium. The project will enable the renewable fuels maker to expand its product offering. The company will then be producing raw tall diesel, which is used for making renewable diesel; rosin, which is used in the production of derivatives; and tall oil pitch, which is used in the paper industry.
