Navarra to offer 15 tax deductions for biomass thermal energy
(SeeNews) – Aug 29, 2014 – The regional government of Spain’s autonomous region of Navarra if offering a tax deduction of 15% for investments in installations using biomass for thermal energy, real estate news portal Inmodiario said Wednesday.
Beneficiaries from the initiative can be both individuals and companies with tax address in Navarra.
The local government will also organise the second edition of the Navarra Biomass Fair which will take place between September 25 and September 27 in Pamplona. The fair aims to boost the sector and promote this type of energy installations and the used of pellets, wood chips and wood as fuel.
Some 65% of the surface in Navarra is forest land, or up 24% from 25 years ago. Furthermore 56% of the forest in Navarra, or some 250,000 hectares (25m acres), is certified which means that the use of the wood is considered environmentally friendly. This makes the region's forests a viable alternative to the energy dependence from abroad, Inmodiario highlighted.
