Muirhall Energy Ltd and WWS Renewables this week said they have picked Germany's Senvion SA (ETR:SEN) to supply the turbines for the long-held-up 30-MW Tormywheel wind farm in West Lothian.
The project got planning consent in 2007 and was put on hold for seven years due to an aviation issue. To address it, Muirhall and WWS, which acquired the scheme in 2015, invested in a new radar system for Edinburgh airport. The latter will be put into service in January 2017.
The partners have ordered 15 Senvion MM92 2.05-MW turbines for the wind farm. Delivery of the machines will start in November 2016, and the wind park is to be brought online shortly after that. The companies also said they have awarded the balance of plant contract to AE Yates.
Senvion previously supplied turbines for the 12.3-MW Muirhall wind farm and the 6.4-MW Muirhall wind farm extension.
