Ming Yang to install 6-MW offshore wind turbine in Norway
Jun 13, 2014 - China Ming Yang Wind Power Group Ltd (NYSE:MY) said yesterday it is to install its 6-MW Super Compact Drive (SCD) wind turbine at a marine energy test centre off the coast of Karmoy Island in Norway.
The Chinese company has signed a heads of agreement with Marin Energi Testcenter AS, also known as MetCentre, envisaging the installation of the SCD offshore prototype in the wind turbine demonstration area. The parties are yet to sign a detailed deal on the project, supposedly in late 2014.
Earlier this month, Ming Yang said it had received the green light from the Rudong Energy Bureau to construct a 300-MW wind farm off the coast of China’s Jiangsu province.
