February 7 (Renewables Now) - German wind farm servicing firm Wpd Windmanager GmbH & Co KG will take care of the commercial management of the 48-MW Zajaczkowo wind farm in Poland.

The particular wind park is owned by Green Investment Group Ltd (GIG), which is part of Australia’s Macquarie Group Ltd (ASX:MQG). It purchased the asset from J-Power Investment Netherlands BV and Mitsui Renewable Energy Europe Ltd in November 2019.

The affiliate of German wind project developer Wpd AG announced the award on Wednesday without providing financial details.

The Zajaczkowo wind park near the city of Slupsk, in northern Poland’s Pomeranian Voivodeship, has been generating power since September 2008. The output of its 24 Vestas V80 turbines is enough to meet the demand of 38,367 homes per year.

Wpd Windmanager is also managing GIG’s 42-MW Kisielice wind farm in Poland, where GIG says the potential for near-term growth in renewables is “considerable.”
