US onshore wind developer Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a unit of Denmark’s Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED), announced today it has initiated the commercial operation of the 184-MW Lockett Wind farm in Texas.
The project was completed on time and on budget, according to LCE CEO Declan Flanagan. It has helped the company cross the milestone of having more than 1 GW of operational assets across the US. LCE also has more than 1.3 GW in construction and late-stage development.
The Lockett Wind plant is located in Wilbarger and has the capacity to produce over 700,000 MWh of renewable power each year. This would be enough to cover the annual consumption of some 70,000 US households.
Ørsted announced that its unit was preparing to begin construction work on Lockett Wind in late 2018.
